More six by seven work

The Mamiya RZ67 is very simple in style, but it boasts some impressive technical ideas with lenses and outstanding sharpness, and enormous negatives (6x7). The RZ debuted in 1982 and has a rotating back to permit the changing from landscape to portrait orientation without any problems. It is just rotating the back.

Creating images with film is fantastic, and the medium format is a “Holy Grail” format. The Mamiya RZ67 creates images with a unique quality attributable to the larger size.

The camera is a joy to use. The RZ67 is engineered to mitigate the irrational things we do to mess up images and ruin rolls of film. This camera is questioning to get into trouble because it is almost infallible.

I wish all modern cameras were designed equally. It’s a large but modular camera, allowing you to switch film backs and lenses, viewfinders and film orientation, and so forth on the fly. But, it never gets in the way, and in the end, you just need to click the shutter and create the image.

And now, some images.
