Hasselblad and HP5

My recent creative walk with my Hasselblad in Chinatown was exciting. While drafting it, I waited for the film to dry I had just developed. The creative mind inside me is always looking for the next exciting thing. It pushes my senses to new adventures/inquires and is helpful to refill the batterie of my mind.

The Camera - Hasselblad 500

I bought it in 1998, and it quickly proved itself as a keeper. It has seen bursts of exercise and patches of lazy spectatorship during that time, the latter as I’ve grappled with more recent arrivals. I purchased it with the classic 80mm f/2.8, a waist-level finder, and two A12 backs. It is now a three-lens setup (30mm, 80mm, 135mm) and a few other backs. The things that draw me to the Hasselblad are the ease of operation, the sound, and of course, the image quality. I love the square format and its arguments, and I love that a year-old camera is still taught, slick and attractive.

The images I’ve selected for this post are each created with HP 5 B/W film. They serve as a hint of what this camera is capable of and might be even better with other photo creators.
