OLYMPUS PEN F in Hong Kong
Going out to get some images in the streets, I decided to take the Olympus PEN F for a run. Taking a significantly small camera and light is always a good tip for any street photographer. The half-frame 38mm equates to about 55mm with a 35mm camera.
Its 𝒇1.8 max aperture (going up to 𝒇16) and the minimum focus distance of 0.8m create a decent bokeh but do not melt backgrounds out of existence. The benefits of wandering in Hong Kong are not a challenge but fun. It's no secret that street photography can be challenging. There is a certain degree of shyness and apprehension when approaching strangers in the street.Pretending to be a tourist removes the anxiety that comes with taking photos up-close. In Hong Kong, the feeling of freedom to be seen as a tourist helps overcome this fear in street photography. Everyone around was taking pictures, vacation snaps, and selfies. All these photographs were created in Hong Kong, and I highly recommend the place for any street photography. This camera is part of my peculiar trip into the analog world, and I feel recharged and ready to hit the streets of Manila tomorrow again.
