The first time I heard of of toes-to-bars, deadlifts and snatches I couldn’t make head or tails of it. Than a friend explained it has something to do in a certain time frame with maximal repetitions and some heavy iron lifting.
Still no clue.
Than I got the chance to visit one club here in Hanoi and take photos of some dedicated athletes in this sport. As I read about it I found out that Cross Fit is in principal a program to strengthen and conditioning your body. It has widely been used in police academies and tactical operation teams in the military but as well by champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
If you want a healthier lifestyle, or take your fitness to a new level of strength, power and intensity that could be the way to go. You might even get your whole family fit in this regard?? Not mine I think.
There is just one thing to do - which is the hardest part - beat your inner temptation (in German -kaempfe gene den innernen Schweinehund) you have to be willing to take a risk and step out of your comfort zone. Size and shape does not matter! CrossFit is for everyone!
