Old habits come back quite easily it seems. Depending on the used paper even wet in wet painting turns out not too bad. The scenes here around Hoi An are specially well suited for pastel colors and some crude detail work on lampoons, scenes at the riverside as well as sketches of the old commercial houses. In effect it looks better as on a photo. Sitting here in different coffee bars in shadow, looking at the scene in front and trying to get some sense in color on my canvas is pure fun.
Along the riverside
Lampoons everywhere. It's one of Hoi An's trademarks.
In the evening there are hundreds of shops with lighted lampoons all over the place.
My impression of the Japanese bridge.
The market is especially full on Sundays and I'm in need of some new red color. So I just go on in green.
Earned myself a Tiger at last. Not a jumping one but a cool liquid .....
