Do you ever feel that you’re lost, wandering; maybe, even, missing the right turns on a street. You kn

ow what you’re looking for, but things just don’t “feel” like they are falling into place, exactly as you think they should be? Maybe, things are even spinning out of your control . . .

Today was one of those days. I felt I was lost in a maze of small alleys in one of Hanoi’s quarters. The sun started to settle and the light in the small alleys got shallow and uninteresting.

One of the many things I love about photography is the fact that with good, interesting light, nearly any scene can look beautiful. Case in point, this actually trash-strewn alley I walked in a second later.

The setting sun just illuminated the small alley (illuminALLEY) in front of me and the everywhere existing charcoal barbecues gave an appropriate cloud of smoke. In my opinion to post process the RAW image in black and white was just the right decision.

Judge yourself.

Just reached the alley when sunlight an charcoal smoke started to mix.
