This evening we met with a dedicated group of the Hanoi Photo Club to enhance our creative possibilities and  techniques at the subject of Night Photography.

The subjects of this kind of photography can and did vary greatly between us individual photographers, as well as from one subject area to the next. Everything is kind of situational. If I look at the night time shots we took, the traffic streaks - a quintessential subject and easy to create were most interesting. All you need is a dark location with moderate traffic, a steady tripod and a good vantage point. we found a suitable rooftop near Hoan Kiem Lake with a splendid point of view looking down on the pattern of light as it stroke through our frames.

Another fun choice are NEON signs - they are bright, they are colorful and many are retro looking which in itself is fascinating. Photographing these signs is incredibly easy and
simple because your matrix meter reading is usually very accurate. Most of these signs are as well bright enough to be shot handheld. Just get your ISO to 400 may be 800 but
mostly you can get by at ISO 200.

And looking at all the city street scenes you can certainly find much more, lights, neon signs, exited people and hopefully tremendous fun!
