The Old Quarter of Hanoi, where most of the tourist hotels and restaurants are located, began to establish itself as a crafts area long ago. By the 13th century artisan guilds gathered in different areas and formed the quarter for centuries.
This resulted in streets acquiring the names of the crafts. Few of the streets in the Old Quarter have retained their original character or craft.
As you walk down the different streets it is quite common that it changes its name as you travel along. Everywhere you can find stores that are selling all manner of things and in the evening, the things are cleared away and out come the bamboo mats and the smell of muc nuong — grilled cuttlefish. It's worth to wander around and that I did as I wanted to get something hot to eat and I got it as you can see at the face of the cook.
There seems to be a nice alley
It seems that there a plenty of people waiting for food
And the food seems to be hot
