Mong Kok and its Music

Danny Hui and his dog seems to be the oldest one, now over 60 years he performs with his melodies which includes Chinese classics from the likes of Anita Mui and Sam Hui to Western hits such Unchained Melody or Changing Partners. Sometimes there are viewers who stay for over an hour to hear songs or even request oldies wish they wish to hear.

Danny Hui performs mostly around 7pm to 10pm, if possible five days a week. He is one of the Hong Kong people who is very proud and even as he had a stroke in the mid 90s he never took a dollar from wellfare. If you ask him, he will tell you that as long as he has a job - streetsinger - he can support himself.
